# Obby

> An open-source native macOS notes app built with Swift and SwiftUI. Notes are ordinary Markdown files in a user-selected folder, with normal folders and attachments. AI is optional.

## Product principles
- Normal files: the notes folder is the source of truth, not a proprietary note database.
- Controlled AI actions: search, read, create, edit and organise notes inside the chosen folder. Deletion requires confirmation. Available actions depend on model capabilities.
- Model choice: local Ollama, Anthropic, Google Gemini or OpenAI-compatible services. Cloud requests may include relevant notes and attachments.
- Requires macOS 13 or later; the current release targets Apple silicon.
- Apache License 2.0.
